University Video Libraries

The WATCH DOCS university video libraries project is an initiative of Warsaw’s Social Institute of Film in cooperation with the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, with support from the Minister of Labor and Social Policy as part of the Government Program Civic Initiative Fund. Video library resources include 41 documentary films devoted to broad human rights issues, democracy and equality, screened in past editions of the International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film. WATCH DOCS intends to provide teachers of various disciplines (ranging from law, political science to history, journalism and social sciences) access to films in their didactic work with students and their own research. Films collected in WATCH DOCS video libraries may be used only within the university campuses and are not loaned out to students. Nevertheless, we encourage participating universities to make films available to students for viewing in school reading/screening rooms.

All films include a brief caption and a list of keywords to assist in selection for planned activities.
