Captive Radio

Every Sunday morning, Bogota’s Radio Caracol broadcasts a remarkable program that allows hostages kidnapped by the FARC and held in the Colombian jungle to hear the voices of their loved ones. Their messages help the captives endure their ordeal, as evidenced by police officer Guillermo Solórzano, who managed to return home after being held for years. Juan Camilo Mora’s parents are still waiting for their son to return. They have been speaking to him on the radio for six years, hoping that, somewhere far away, he can hear them and that someday they will see him again. (mn)
