The 12th Traveling Film Festival WATCH DOCS kicks off on March 6

The first town the festival is going to visit this year is Lublin.

WATCH DOCS thanks the festival films translators

For several years now we have been cooperating with students of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin who help with the translation of films for the festival.

This year’s WATCH DOCS audience award went to a British documentary No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka by Callum Macrae.

Nima Sarvestani’s NO BURQAS BEHIND BARS wins the 13th WATCH DOCS

The main award of the 13th International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film was given to the Iranian documentarian Nima Sarvestani for his No Burqas Behind Bars, which was shot in Afghanistan.

Fourth Day of the Festival

On Monday, WATCH DOCS audiences will have an opportunity to watch as many as four documentaries from our permanent section I Want to See: Zelim’s Confession documenting tortures experienced by a Chechen refugee in Ingushetia at the hands of the police; No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka revealing the shocking scale of a Sri Lankan genocide; How to Make Money Selling Drugs, a provoking documentary by Matthew Cooke; and The irresistible rise of Moïse Katumbi accompanied by a Q&A with the film’s director Thierry Michel. Our viewers will also have a chance to take part in a discussion with Florence Martin-Kessler, the director of State Builders.

Today, on saturday, 7th December 2013, during the 13th edition of International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film there will be a master class held with the recipient of this year’s Marek Nowicki Prize, the master of contemporary documentary cinema – Maria Ramos.
