This year’s festival competition program includes thirteen outstanding documentaries, which will vie for the WATCH DOCS Award. The winners will be chosen by the international jury.

Photography Exhibition: “The Sochi Project”

Photography exhibition “The Sochi Project. An Atlas of War and Tourism in the Caucasus” by Rob Hornstra and Arnold van Bruggen will be one of the most intriguing events accompanying this year’s WATCH DOCS IFF. The opening of the show with the participation of its authors will be held at 6.00 PM on December 6 in the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle.

WATCH DOCS programmers in juries of European film festivals

On October 1, the 15th Bergen International Film Festival, one of the biggest film events in the Scandinavia, came to an end. This year’s festival jury, which included WATCH DOCS programming director Konrad Wirkowski, granted the main award for a human rights documentary to Drone by Tonje Hessen Schei.

We bid farewell to Stefan Starczewski

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Stefan Starczewski, a democratic opposition activist under the Communist regime, initiator and co-originator of the Helsinki Committee in Poland, member of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights Council. It was Stefan Starczewski who opened the first WATCH DOCS festival in the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle on December 14, 2001.

12th Travelling Film Festival WATCH DOCS Returns After the Holiday Break

On September 9, the 12th Travelling Film Festival WATCH DOCS kicked off in the Bieszczady mountains. Screenings were organized in Ustrzyki Dolne, Cisna, Czarna Górna, Wetlina, Lutowiska, and Lipie.
