FUTURE DOCS at One World Prague

9-03-2016

FUTURE DOCS is a new, European project of the WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film International Film Festival, tailored for documentary filmmakers and human rights defenders. For the first time, FUTURE DOCS participants met in December in Warsaw at the 15th WATCH DOCS IFF. Stories presented by activists and human rights defenders were meant to serve as a source of inspiration for documentarians, who might choose to translate them into the cinematic language.

As an effect of the first workshop and newly-began collaborations, four projects has been born and will be further developed at the second FUTURE DOCS meeting, to be held on March 9-10, at the world’s biggest human rights film festival–One World Prague. At the workshop, participants will be supported by tutors–Rada Sesic and Sirkka Moeller. All projects vie for a FUTURE DOCS Prize of 7000 Euro. The winners will be announced in June 2016.

More information about the project can be found on the FUTURE DOCS website and Facebook page.

FUTURE DOCS is one of the 11 winners of “Advocate Europe” annual idea challenge for innovative European initiatives and projects, realised by MitOst e.V. and Liquid Democracy e.V., funded by Stiftung Mercator.
