In collaboration with Prague's One World - the biggest human rights film festival worldwide - and three other Central European festivals, we have prepared a special program of documentaries devoted to challenges, achievements and disappointments related to democratic transition in the region. What of those 20 years has remained in societies' collective consciousness? We are screening 4 titles out of more than 20 presented in March at One World. Each one of those films brings about a different perspective. Thomas Heise's outstanding documentary "Mein Bruder. We'll Meet Again" is yet another voice on the complexity of dealing with the past. Hungarian "Rocking the Nation" focuses on a very common problem of young democracies - raise of nationalism. "Goat Walker" by Bartek Konopka is a humorous portrayal of people who got lost in the new reality. Czech documentary "The Greatest Wish" is a bit nostalgic comeback to 1989, time of great expectations, dreams and aspirations, which not always had the chance to be fulfilled.
