June is traditionally Pride Month — a time when the LGBTQ+ community worldwide, supported by allies, celebrates living authentically in accordance with their own identity. As every year, WATCH DOCS joins the celebrations by organizing a nationwide campaign in support of LGBTQ+ people — TIME FOR EQUALITY.

A key element of the campaign is the screening of the film Być jak Mikołaj (Being Mikołaj), directed by Aurelia Frydrych-Zdanowska — winner of two awards in the New Polish Films competition at the 24th WATCH DOCS International Film Festival last December. This exceptional documentary sensitively and thoughtfully portrays the emotions and doubts surrounding the transition process of the film’s protagonist.

The screenings will be accompanied by meetings with the main protagonist and the filmmakers.
