23rd WATCH DOCS kicks off!

We're off! Between December 1-10, we will present more than 50 extraordinary films addressing most pressing social issues. We invite you to Muranów and Kinoteka cinemas in Warsaw and online at MOJEeKINO.pl. For those of you who haven't managed to decide which films to go to, we have prepared a list of 5 must-see hits.

"Dalton's Dream" - in her new film, British documentary master Kim Longinotto and Franky Murray Brown portray Dalton Harris - a young singer gifted with an extraordinary voice, who was born and raised in Jamaica and in 2018 became the first black non-Brit to win the X-Factor UK talent competition. After the screenings, Kim Longinotto and Franky Murray Brown will meet the audience for a Q&A session.

"The Standstill" - the Polish premiere of the latest film by Nikolaus Geyrhalter, this year's winner of the Marek Nowicki Prize, presented for outstanding achievements in portraying human rights in film. A master of the aesthetics of the frame, Geyrhalter's latest film is a non-obvious portrait of a world suddenly brought to a standstill during the COVID 19 pandemic. The 23rd WATCH DOCS will also feature the director's other films: "Our Daily Bread," "Pripyat" and "Matter Out of Place."

"Patrick and the Whale" - a stunning story with spectacular underwater cinematography about a lawyer who left his corporate job to devote himself to his dream of making contact with whales. The world's largest animals look like creatures from outer space in this spectacular film. How do you communicate with a giant of several tens of tonnes behaving like an amused puppy? And can whales gain anything from human interest?

"My Worst Enemy"- Zar Amir Ebrahimi, known for "Holy Spider," stars in a controversial reconstruction of an interrogation in an Iranian prison. A dynamic and emotionally brimming psychodrama that is hard to look away from, raising questions about the ethical limits of film. Outstanding performance by Ebrahimi.

See you in the cinemas!
